Maverick34 (2486) - New York, USA - NOV 6, 2009
Draft in Arg. A bit sweet. Not really a bock. Just a dark latin american beer. I switched back to regular Quilmes right after, if that’s any indication.

Poured dark but clear. Some burnt hops, but watery. Not bad for Latin America.

Nekronos (3738) - Xalapa, MEXICO - JUL 20, 2009
Not bad, a little out of what I know as a Bock, but it’s not the first time I find a Bock like this in Latin america. It was nice and creamy, not too strong in taste and veyr nice head.

A Inbev deveria fazer esse tipo de cerveja no Brasil, boa cerveja e de amargor elevado.

altacyr (144) - Campinas, BRAZIL - FEB 21, 2009
Aroma de malte. Coloração avermelhada, com espuma fina e clara. sabor que destaca também o malte, com amargor agradável. Superior às outras versões da popular cervejaria.

on tap @Temple Bar Buenos Aires-pours a light brown head and mahogany color. Aroma is roasty medium malt, some peat. Taste is roasty medium malt, vinegar/tart fruit, yeast, some peat. All three beers on tap had the same off? notes. Light side of medium body.

The usual dark beer for starters, I introduced a lot of people to dark beers with Quilmes Bock. Watery as all Quilmes beers, but has enough body and taste to give you an impression of what a dark beer is.

imdownthepub (11109) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2008
Bottled, pasteurised, 330ml from Westholme Stores, Goring. Brown with short cream head. Pretty sweet beer, quite syrupy and fruity, presumably plenty of spare sugars to get the alcohol. Thin and carbonated with some adjuncty notes. Not good.

this had to be better than the pale, right? well, yes, but only just. were I cynical I’d say it was the pale with some caramel and some industrial alcohol. come to think of it, I am cynical, so I do think this is the pale with caramel and industrial alcohol

Better than average only because it’s not an industrial lager. Dark beers are mostly a rarity in Argentina save a few micros of spotty distribution. Standard recyclable pounder, decent color, decent taste.
