UPDATED: MAY 20, 2005 I brought this particular can of beer back with me a while ago. But it’s still clear and actually tastes better than I remember! Must be due to the alcohol. I was immediately impressed by the pronounced flavor upon my first sip. It’s a flavor that dissipates after a while though. Nice lace on the glass and a light lingering head. The color is that of a traditional brown ale. This beer is much better than I remember. I’d suggest for the patient to get a case and sock it away for a while, taking out a can or bottle once per month over a year or two. I bet it gets much better. Go Quilmes! I had orignially anticipated that the color was only from malt syrup added, but perhaps there is more going on here. Not bad, not bad....

Aweful beer. No aroma present at all but a little malt. Actually seems like a malted, colored very low-quality pilsner.

Imbibed in December 2002. Faint, faint aroma of malt with the lightest hop flavor. Clear ruby color with a thick white head that has a tinge of tan to it. And I know where the color comes from - caramel coloring. Shame on them! Watery malt flavor with a tad of caramel. Low carbonation. Not satisfying but different than the other Quilmes beers.

This is a nasty beer, you can taste the tettnanger hops, but it is way to bitter, there is none of the malty fullness that you would expect from a decent dark lager.

It’s a well balanced slighty malty beer. Medium bodied with a little sweet finish. Good head retention.

This is an all around good beer.
