1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle, dark brown with a thick foamy beige head. A malty aroma with some coffee. Very dry palate, a little flavourless and a bit burnt.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Appearance: brown color. Medium head, beige color and few persistency.
Aroma: candy, roast sugar and some metallic.
Flavor: too much sweet; roast sugar, caramel and toasty touches. Some artificial-fruitiness like blackberries in syrup.
Palate: light to medium body. Medium carbonation.
Unbalanced and very discrete. Definitively not a bock beer.

Bottled, pasteurised, 330ml from Westholme Stores, Goring. Brown with short cream head. Pretty sweet beer, quite syrupy and fruity, presumably plenty of spare sugars to get the alcohol. Thin and carbonated with some adjuncty notes. Not good.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Seems like a malted, colored very low-quality pilsner. Not a big fan, love the country but not this beer.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Clear dark brown with medium beige head. Low and empty aroma, flavor too sweet for a bock. Light body and watery. It´s like a pale lager in taste but coloured.

Quilmes Bock is lightweight in every respect. The style’s hallmark caramel, bready flavours are there but only just. Rather than being proudly paraded around the palate, like a pedigree at a Best in Show competition, the flavours make an all too brief appearance before ingloriously exiting down the throat. The bitterness never reaches any great heights so the balance of the beer is lost, leaving you feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Can 354 ml: Pours an opaque red/brown color with a small, fully diminishing beige head that leaves a small lacing.
Weird aroma. What the hell is this?! The only malty smell I found was a little of caramel (probably artificially added). There are notes of metal from the can and some herbs and grapefruit from the hops. I found also some hints of sour milk. How could this be a Bock?.
Flavor is soft, sweet but with a hoppy trace always present. It gives this beer a very un-bock taste. There’s a bit of orange, bitter chocolate and Coca Cola. Where is the malty character?. Dissapointing would be an overstatement.
Light body and watery texture, this is definitely a dark lager. A bad one. Alcohol is well-hidden at least. Finish is short and nothing special. Lagerish aftertaste. Bad. Another one brought by my mother from Mendoza, Argentina.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
This is a nasty beer, you can taste the tettnanger hops, but it is way to bitter, there is none of the malty fullness that you would expect from a decent dark lager.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle: Quite flat and boring for a ´bock´ beer, very close to it’s brother brew. Watery, plain, boring. Heineken do something here, you’re dying!

Little of everything. It is not for what one expects from a dark beer. Something of Malty, in a very slight body. Nothing more.
