jb (1024), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 20, 2008 Not bad, full grassy aroma, good body for a lager. Thanks Ron for sharing! ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Sep 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, pale yellow body with a few stray bubbles, but that’s about it.
Smell: Sad, vapid nose with just a light touch of pale malt and floral hops.
Taste: Light pale malts with only the faintest sweetness. Meager floral hint with an almost non-existent bitterness. The rest is water, folks.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Shamefully watery. Great for rinsing out your glass for the next beer - hopefully one with some actual flavor and character. Ron (1000), Rochester, New York, USA Sep 18, 2008 Bought one bottle for the sole purpose of trying any beer from Argentina. Very light and watered down Lager. Would be better very cold after cutting the lawn. liinis (695), Helsinki, Finland Sep 17, 2008 "Argentina’s favorite beer" bottle. pale yellow with a white head. watery. flavorless and odorless. don’t bother dkazuk (247), winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Sep 15, 2008 355ml bottle.
Pale yellow beer with a white head. Semi sweet nose with a bit of skunk and metal. Thin beer with a mildly sweet corny flavour. Slightly bitter finish. On the low end of the scale. ansermadide (496), Kyle, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2008 (12oz bottle from Whole Foods on September 13, 2008) Sitting around at home, digesting beans and rice on a Saturday afternoon. Being lazy, want a beer, what to do? Quilmes! Its billowy white frothy head forms as I pour, popping itself away in about 30 seconds. It’s exceptionally clear with steady carbonation ascending through its pale yellow color. Aroma of a pale lager, and the flavor a little metallic. Smooth going down. In the past 24 hours this is the 12th Latin American label I’ve had, so I’m becoming more accustomed to the style. Before this weekend I never thought too seriously of Latin American lagers, but I suppose I’ve come to appreciate them for what they are a little more. That said, for what Quilmes is, it’s pretty good. No offensive flavors, no bad aftertaste, quenches the thirst. And although it’s not a smooth porter, a luscious double IPA or a well-concocted Belgian, it’s darned good for what it is. ATLBeerDog (280), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 13, 2008 Pours a very light pale color with a small almost non existent head. Smells of corn and not much malt. First sip is tad bitter with an ok hop presence but not much flavor. Very light bodied with average carbonation. Very typical for beers from South America. Not enough flavor to be called a “beer”. ThatBrendan (8), Phoenix, Arizona, USA does not count Sep 7, 2008 The best thing you can say about this beer is that it at least looks and smells like a golden lager. It tastes like bottled water with some hops brushed through it. There is no structure, nothing unique, nothing remarkable at all about this beer.
