Tasted as the export version Quilmes Cerveza. Argentina’s national standard lager, with thin and fairly unstable but nevertheless nicely lacing, snow white head, colour cristal clear golden blonde, very pale with vaguely greenish hue and vivid sparkling. Weak aroma of slightly sourish grains and sweetish corn, faint hint of iron, some minerals, very weak grassy hops present far away in the background. Neutral taste, quite crisp but not more so than mineral water, some unmistakable corn sweetness, grainy sourish touch, medium carbonation, watery and bit metallic body, minerals in the finish but practically no hop bitterness worth mentioning, so ending thin, neutral and watery. The aroma and taste of this are so weak that even the corn presence, which I dislike, cannot bother me here; this is almost as neutral as Corona... Quenching alright, but that goes for sparkling water too.

Bottle .34 from ElCorteIngles. Malty and mellow aroma. Light, clear straw colored body with lively carbonation and fair lacing. Very neutral Lager with mellow finish (but not toffee). Interesting beer but not Argentina’s favorite as they say. At least not mine.

Gedronken in een Argentijns restaurant. Gewoon pils en dronk lekker weg tijdens het eten en geellig tafelen met vrienden. niets bijzonders dus. Bier als middel om het eten weg te spoelen en wat licht in je hoofd te worden.

Yellow. Carbonation goes soon. Traces of cascade hops -as fas as I know-. It gives a brief sensation slightly sweet, with a touch of salty, whith the classical nonexistent aftertaste when swallowed. Normal among this kind of beers.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 1B). Bottle 34 cl - Batch L4188 18:00. AROMA: slight grainy aroma with notes of malt and some rice and corn. none to very faint hop aroma. APPEARANCE: pale yellow and translucent. thin white moussy head with below average retention. TASTE: diluted sweet corn and rice flavour. low bitterness with an almost sweet finish. some oxidation notes. PALATE: thin body with average carbonation. OVERALL: yet another bulk pale lager with a lot of adjunct flavours.

13.02.13:Bottle 0.355 l, Alcampo, Gran Canaria, Spain.
