mkel07 (494), Brisbane, Australia Jun 8, 2009 330ml bottle. Light and thin in the mouth and pale straw in colour. Rocky white head that doeant do anything to liven up the appearance. Watery and thin body with no distinctive aroma . Geiserich (1775), Vienna, Austria Jun 7, 2009 Bottle: Inconspicuous in taste and aroma. Some grain and shy hop notes in the end. Thirst-quenching but not more. LordCorkscrew (939), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy Jun 2, 2009 Ieri sera avevo voglia di birra, e ho bevuto una Quilmes. La prossima volta che avrò voglia di birra, berrò una birra Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 2, 2009 Turned out to be better than expected...not that I expected much considering the other South American beers I’ve sampled. Pours well into my glass with a clear weak yellowish hue and the cap was moderate at best. Aroma has a sweet malt characteristic, what should be hops, grass and some skunkiness. Taste is boooooring which made me take big sips just to finish it all off quicker. Too sweet to enjoy properly. I also found what may be a hint of lemon...may. Mouthfeel saves it: average euro swill feel, light bodied and crisp with not much aftertaste and goes down well. More money down the toilet. austone (998), Turku; Pori, Finland May 28, 2009 Bottle at Dynkky, Turku. Very mineral nose, plain salt mines with a touch of rubber gloves. Similarly mineral, dry flavor with a faint grapefruit note. Light bodied, strong basic carbonation. Not that refreshing, slightly stuffy even, but it has probably travelled for a long time. Plus it avoids the all real nasties, these are still just mild. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA May 28, 2009 From a bottle poured clear golden color with a small head. Typical cheap lager flavor and finish. BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA May 20, 2009 My number 500! Well, I suppose you are asking yourself who would want to waste their number 500 on a beer rated barely a "5" out of 100. Having the grand idea to slip off to Belgium and tag around the country side, boozing with monks in monestary’s giving my palate the over-do work-out it deserved, I was all but waiting. Well, change of plans and more importantly, change in my train of thought. I’ve already had phenomenal brews and rated them accordingly. I asked myself what I was missing......my answer..."the experience" of any beer. So, I find myself teetering on number 499, at a dance bar in Rosario, Argentina, and the menu consisting of Quilmes and Ferment/Cola; the latter being well too sweet for my taste. So, in grand ol’ fashion, I pop the top of a damn aluminum can and divulge into mediocre bliss, enhanced by the intoxicating rhythm of strange dance partners, non-English speakers, and a few fabulous mates. With a 1x1x1 combination of beer and water, I partied on a sub-par major brewery beer to make ol Busch proud, and became aquainted with Quilmes well past 9am in the morning. So, kudos to the experience a sub-par brew can produce. big yerself up Boludo! My overall impression; 19! Yves (989), Beerse, Belgium May 11, 2009 Clear goldblond coloured beer with small white head and medium carbonation. A sweet hoppy aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is smooth, sweet and herby.
