GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA May 8, 2009 I know that this beer is synonymous with Argentina. It’s plastered everywhere in that country and the stuff runs like water in every location imaginable. Little babies can be seen sucking on a bottle of this stuff. OK, not really but it’s that prevalent. Having had the chance to enjoy this beer many years ago, I found that it hasn’t changed one bit. Bought this as a single bottle at Cost Plus for under a buck, so I figured what the hell.
The beer pours out a standard yellowish/straw color with a huge 3" soapy head. Aroma is skunk, light corn-like malts and just a hint of wet grass. Mouthfeel is watery, but standard for a pale lager. Flavor has a light maltiness that is easy drinking. No hops, nothing fancy...just a regular old lawnmower beer that you can find in any country, anywhere on Earth. Wether it’s called Budweiser, Red Stripe, Corona, San Miguel, MGD, Tuborg or Fischer...it’s all the same. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA May 8, 2009 Clear look, yellow straw color, and has a samll to no white head. The smell is corn, grain, little off, malts, and floral. The taste is corn, slight sweetness, malts, grains, and florals. nhamilton (58), Cibolo, Texas, USA May 4, 2009 My first try at a South American brew. Very pale, almost like a lite beer. forms a large white head. Has a smooth taste and goes down easy. Could have been better, but would try it again. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA May 2, 2009 ~Pours a clear watered down gold color with rocky white head. The color isnt good, luckily the nice looking head redeems it and brings it back to a 3.
~Damn I really have to snort this stuff to get any scent from it. Some sour hay and malts?
~Flavor of very watered down malts. This is the most tasteless beer I had. I cant complain about it because it really doesn’t have hardly any taste.
~Thin watered down feel. Good when you are dying of thirst in the desert I guess.
~This beer really blows my mind. Perhaps I should have had this beer first. All I have had is other lagers tonight. This beer is really weak. It impresses me that there is any alcohol in this. I’m surprised this doesn’t outsell Corona. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA Apr 25, 2009 Attractive bottle colors.
Pours translucent gold, thin white head that doesn’t retain well. Aromas of malt and corn. Simple. On the palate this bear is watery with an almost artificial malt sweetness, with more corn, and rather thin bodied. Easy drinking, almost no hops, but certainly would prefer this over any BMC offering at the office party with limited selections.
BillKismet (1899), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 24, 2009 Blonde color with surprisingly pleasant malted grain aroma and crisp clean malted grain flavor profile. Earthy and refreshing. One of the better versions of this style. cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Apr 12, 2009 Pale yellow with quickly fading head. I think that i Actually recoiled in horror when I attempted to inhale the aromas off this brew. The taste isn’t quite as bad but is marked with the crappy and disappointing oily corn sourness which i guess I should have expected. At its best I suppose this deserves an "eh" and there are several brews of similar stature in the continent which have a lot more character and are simply better, this one is not worth a retry. coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Apr 7, 2009 Light notes of sewer kiss the nose. Pours a bit like pee with a foamy head. Taste is not near as bad. Light clean and uneventful. Still better than Budweiser.
