2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 whaleman (2175) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 26, 2005
Dull straw body with some stray floaties, substantial carbonation, and a fading, soapy white head. Aroma of buttered corn plus a briny note. Lightly sweet flavor with some mild cleansing bitterness and acidity. Bland and watery, but basically inoffensive. Think Corona in a dark bottle. The last in my brief foray into the dark world of generic foreign exports.

A friend of mine was given this by a friend of his. I ad no choice but to drink it to be polite. Pours clear yellow with white head. Cereal malt aroma. Slightly sweet and bitter flavor. Light to medium body with fizzy carbonatoin. A typical macro pale lager.

Bottle courtesy of Dakine. Second up on my Central America Beer Tour – we head over to Argentina. Pours a clear gold with initial one finger white head that fades to a small snowcap. Decent lacing. Nose is super light – hardly pick up anything but maybe a touch of hops if I strain really hard. Taste is a touch of grain, grass and a mild sweet corn finish. Light mouth feel. Drinkable.

Pours with a three finger head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Chrystal clear light amber color. Very light carbonation and light bodied. Hoppy nose. Starts slightly hoppy with a corn husk flavor, aftertaste has a slight bitterness. Another one just for the country. 12 oz bottle part of mixed 6-pak for $7.99 from Friar Tuck’s Peoria, Il.

Clear yellow color, large bubbles, poor head formation. All malt aroma, light touch of baked bread but not unpleasant. Malt and grain palate, no body. Fizziness causes a touch of bite. Sourness in the finish.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Dorwart (2110) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - APR 19, 2006
Decent sized soda bubble head that lasts for a short duration. Light malt and corn aroma. Bit of spicey hops in there also. Color is a pale gold. Good carbonation. Clean flavor of pretty much nothing. Very light. Little malt. Light hops and nothing else. Kind of like a typical BMC. Finish is clean and crisp. Kind of like drinking cold water. What are these people thinking. Argentina’s favorite beer. Guess I am not going to Argentina.
