ruigo (1152) - PORTUGAL - OCT 3, 2014
33cl bottle. Cloudy pale yellow colour with a generous white head. Citrus, spices, yeast and wheat in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is well balanced although a bit light. Overall, a nice brew.

Alengrin (2065) - BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2014
Organic wheat beer (’tarwedubbel’) since 2010, with off-white, thin head and cloudy yellow blond colour with greenish hue. Aroma obviously wheaty, green apple, soap, grapefruit, bread, jute; bready, soft sourish, grainy taste, some coriander, relatively strong hop bitterness in the finish, at least for this style. Like many Wallonian witbier examples, this has more body than the standard Hoegaarden clones most of us are likely more familiar with.

Alusmamuts (361) - LATVIA - SEP 28, 2014
NIce malty aroma. Yelow with rich white head, hazy. Nice biterness with some orange and coriander notes, but a bit too watery.

Marduk (2790) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 22, 2014
330ml bottle. Hazy light brown color. Tiny to almost no head. Sour, wheat, faint citrus in aroma. Watery, lemony peel, sweetish taste. Watery, but not bad.

FatPhil (9405) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 19, 2014
330ml bottle - Thanks Marduk
Total fucking unbelievable citrus lemon aroma, so much lemon I can hardly belive it. (OK, maybe not that much, but it is certainly supremely citrussy. Some lime too. Alas it’s totally bland in the mouth. Poured more crap into the glass, and it looked less anaemic, and there was much more body, but the whole thing is more soapy. Pretty weird one. Had some potential while it was not yeasty enough, but didn’t expand on its potential once I threw more in.

(bottled as Quintine bio-organic) Straw color, white head, fine bubbling, low carbonation, aromas of citrus and banana, slightly bitter finish, a bit astringent, well balanced and nice but not special

Flavor is fruits, citrus, lemon, spices, wheat, yeast. Finish is sour with some bitterness. Body is rather watery. Overall: ok brew, nothing special.

Ik ben normaal geen fan van witbieren, maar dit was echt een heel lekker witbier.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 12/20
3fourths (8100) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 2, 2014
Labeled Bio Organic, no mention of Blanche but the label mentions wheat. 5.9%, 33cl bottle dated best by April 2016, guessing April 2014 bottling.

Clear gold with a short white head. Aroma is lightly yeasty with faint noble hop touches. Lightly lactic, a tad musty, sweet with mild bitterness and noticeable starchiness. Saccharine sweetness becomes dominant. Simple.
