Bottle from 2013 thanks to _angst_! Shared among friends. Pours clear black, medium beige head, dissipates with nice residual and lacing. Aroma is rich, cocoa, fudge, bourbon, lots of oak, light molasses. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, bourbon and fudge, with vanilla molasses backing. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Quite nice. Some lingering bitterness.

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Pours black-brown with a bubbly tan head. Big dark malt nose, subtle dark fruit tang, some toffee. Medium sweet flavor with more dark fruits and toffee, light booze. Full bodied, lightly chewy, finely carbonated. Lightly warming on the finish, with mellow tangy dark fruits, rich and gooey toffee, chocolate. Nice one.

Bottle... Pours clear and dark brown with no head. The aroma features a decently melded assortment of characteristics - funky, fruity, oaken, roasty and vinous. It’s really all over the place, but I’m picking up no bourbon here - more like subtle notes of gin or tequila or both. Full-bodied with relaxed carbonation. The flavor is mostly boozy and deeply roasted - burnt and a touch bitter - with a savory suggestion of citric tanginess in the finish. I’m not really getting any typical bourbon barrel-induced essences here. It’s certainly warming though. It’s rough around the edges. I can’t wrap my head entirely around this one, but it’s interesting and certainly pleasant. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF tasting 2015. It pours cloudy darkest brown with a tiny light beige head. The nose is rich, unctuous, bourbon, vanilla, fruit cake, stewed fruits and sweet roasted malt. The taste is rich, oily, vanilla, bourbon, wood, roasted malt, leather, warming alcohol, fudge and varnish with a dry, warming finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Good depth and well-rounded stuff. Nice one.
