Bready malt aroma offers also chocolate, caramel, dates, plums, and figs. Clear mahogany brown body is topped by a low but lasting tan head. Chewy malts with pleasant dark fruitiness. Mild butterscotch blends well. Lightly tart finish. Thick, chewy and full in the mouth with moderate carbonation that engages the tongue. Alcohol never apparent. Very pleasant and definitely the best beer from this brewery so far. Happy Anniversary Reservoir! Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

A rich burgundy color. The taste and smeel of grapes and berries like a port wine, with also the sweet taste of caramel. The alcohol level is just fine to make it so pleasant a drink.

Dark burgundy body with a small but long lasting off-white head. Fruits galore in a syrupy body. Raisins, berries, figs and other dark fruits. Liquorice and molasses. Roasted malts. Yep, a bunch of stuff but the whole was less than the sum of its parts, a bit all over the place. Carbonation at soft-drinks level. Good beer but not convincing as a Dubbel. Not 500, maybe 320, yep 320/500.

Nice, spicy butterscotch aroma with dried apricot, papaya, and a hint of ethanol. Red, almost clear with a nice ring surrounding a receding flanel blanket. Very nutty with some light spiciness in counterpoint to the dried fruit character (is this the first dried fruit plus nut beer?); evidence of some dark malt. No butterscotch and not too much ethanol, as expected from the aroma. Could use more bittering. Medium body, low carbonation, a bit sweet.
