Rastacouere (5355), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Feb 9, 2004 Said to be the staff's favorite. The shaker hits the table with a cloudy light brown hue wearing a small white head. Nose is mild english hops, quite restrained, although I must say that it's rather hard to have the perfect grasp on the aroma at Le Réservoir (and it not even 2pm yet). In mouth, there's a light citrus sweetness approaching lime, but overall very little to be said and since I had heard good things about that one, it's a big disappointment. The finish is honest and bitter enough to fit the style, but you can fit a style as much as you want, this doesn't make you stylish when your flavor balance is off in a watery-earthy way. Hoping to revisit on a better day. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 24, 2005 Draught at the brewpub Copper color, white light head and nice lacing. Nose of earthy hops and dusty malts, no sweetness and a dry cigar taste. No alcohol but rich and woody. Quite tasty. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Mar 11, 2005 Pint at the brewpub in the company of tiggmtl and ClarkVV. Fairly light amber, cloudy/murky with a bubbly head of medium duration...fruity, lightly malty straw/grassy nose...solid caramel-hoppy body, quite full, bitterness carries through, some floral/grapefruity character, fairly dry. Really quite nice. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 21, 2003 Updated: Feb 8, 2004This horrendous, distinct flower shampoo perfume (not an error, it's always like this) reminds of a womanly bathroom...Thankfully, this soapy, chalky femininity, caused, says the waitress, by dry hopping, is not printed onto the rest of the beer...Amicable, lingering, grassy bitterness latches on to me, begging me to plunge further...Earthy oranges in light apricot syrup appear submerged, as the watery body engulfs...Would be an honest bitter if it wasn't for that disgusting opening shower scene... tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 13, 2004 Stale hop aroma. Clear dark brown with medium white head that diminishes to cover. Harsh hop bitterness dominates very thin flavour. Watery. Low carbonation. On tap at the brewpub.
