beerbuzzmontreal (2694), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 18, 2005 Pours a ruby color with a thin pink creamy head. Sour aroma of cherries. Sour and sweet flavor of cherries but it feels a lot like syrup, unpleasant and weird finish. Light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. The aroma isn’t bad at all but the flavor ruins it for me. Eructoblaster (1246), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Mar 4, 2005 Effervescent red body topped with a thin pink bubbly head. Fair Cherry aroma with some spicy hints. Unbalanced taste with strong flavors of grenadine syrup that doesn’t match very well with sourness. Sour finish is short and unidimensional. Lot of work to do on that one... Lubiere (3153), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 18, 2004 Tap. May 2004 with Tiggmtl. Cherry red beer with cherry cough syrup meets cotton candy aroma. High carbonation. Fresh cherries in mouth, nice tartness, but a little too acidic. Thinner bodied. tiggmtl (4160), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 3, 2004 Sweet cherries, malt vinegar in mild aroma. Bright red with fizzy pink head and lots of bubbles. Looks almost like a fime kriek. Slight tartness and acetic pucker with sweet cherry flavour to balance. Everything is good here but very subdued although body is far too light and spritzy. On tap at the brewpub. Sampled with Lubiere. MartinT (4241), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 21, 2003 On the road to Maraschino, superficial, sweet cherries painfully discuss Kool-Aid memories...The dim wheat field they crush is dried out and strung out...Its mineral water base soon reveals itself though to Detective Tongue in a weak and predictable ending...And this is the most expensive one on the menu!?!...A good business decision perhaps, but a horrible beer decision, imho...The signs of promise for this new brewpub are fading fast, haunted by a sneering commercialism...
