red éric (1379), montréal, Quebec, Canada Mar 9, 2006 Deep copper color, with a frothy tan head, the nose is announcing nothing good here, with a winey, acidic and vinous aromas, where the maltiness tries to emerge in a reserved way. Follows trough on a medium-bodied palate with a shy malty and toffeeish notes, with a chocolatey hint, fruity, raisiny accents, still has a strange winey and acidic character, are we talking here about an infected beer! Where is the sweet caramel malt character, the full-bodied palate, and the maltiness aspect of this kind of beer, and the malty sweetness. What can i say, not close at all to a real scottish ale.
