Nut brown. Lemony with notes of toffee. Clean mouthfeel, medium body. Traces of beginning infection? Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Feb 9, 2004 Ruby brown body wearing a beige thin head. Aroma consists of light peat, sweet caramel malt and a note of habanero. It enters the mouth surprisingly fruity as if the touch of earthiness and brown sugar from the aroma had been morphed into fruits, baies, blueberries. Not quite a scotch ale as I like them and this feeling is encouraged by a biting thin body that takes us into a pencil shavings/dirt finish. MartinT (4316), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Feb 8, 2004 Muddy fruit swayed by buttery caramel into a watery, sweet ending...Faint citrus hops tickle the fieldberries, but not seriously...A real mellow offering that would not stir the gods of Scotch Ale one bit... tiggmtl (4180), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 3, 2004 Mild roastiness and a touch phenolic, sweet caramel aroma. Clear, brown body with thin off-white head that recedes fully. Chocolate malt, simple fruitiness. Rather boring. Very thin and not much maltiness. On tap at the brewpub (6.5%). Sampled with Lubiere. Radek Kliber (3302), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 16, 2004 Sweet woody, malty aroma. Medium bodied , fruity bitterness. Slightly on acidic side. Sweet malts behind.
