3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (2159) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 18, 2012
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a small light beige head that only leaves a small trace of lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains with hints of chocolate and hops. Taste is chocolate malty sweetness with some roasted grainy bitterness and a bit of hop bitterness as well. A little on the sweet side, but overall, this is a tasty stout and recommended for a sampling.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 wintyguy (38) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2012
650ml bottle
Pours a thick impenetrable black molasses, cappuccino head, thin lacing. Lots of carbonation. Too much carbonation taking over the mouthfeel. Taste, the black malt, chocolate malt. Subtle bitterness balanced by the sweet malt, all masks the fact that its a 4.6% ABV which is nice.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GregClow (2664) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 18, 2011
Bottle - consumed and rated in Dec 2008. Deep brown-black with a small tan head. Aroma and flavour both combine roasted malt, coffee, smoked barley and cocoa, with a moderately dry and slightly hoppy finish. Medium bodied with a nice level of carbonation. A decent and very easy to drink stout.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Powertrip (839) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 15, 2011
Single bottle purchased in Vernon, BC on 03/10/2011. Colour: Pure darkness...but with low head. Nose: Coffee clouded in smoke ....and thick too. Some hard-boiled egg & habanero. Taste: Light sweet, light sour, medium bitter. 85% cocoa, charcoal, dark roast coffee. Limited characteristics but some smoke that seems geniune - if not misplaced.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DeanF (1478) - Iqaluit, Nunavut, CANADA - FEB 13, 2011
Jet black body and dark brown head. Simple aroma of roasted barley. Taste is a sour stout, not sweet at all and with a bitter finish. Not my kind of stout; I prefer the sweeter and more complex ones. Some might find this highly drinkable, I found it just barely.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 fiulijn (10365) - Como, ITALY - JUL 31, 2010
Draught at Amberjack Tap House, Surrey, BC The color is almost black; the head is brownish. Light aroma, burnt paper and roasted malt. Very dry mouthfeel, with harsh roasted malt flavor, weak body. Correct bitterness, all from the black malt. Monodimensional, and not the dimension I prefer.

Bottled, from Kimberley, BC. Black, small head. Smokey cocoa aroma. Dry and clean with fairy light body. Interesting flavours of smoke and coffee, but a bit sharp in the mouth.

My bottle [650ml] shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, jerc, mabel & GregClow -- c/o Mirek. Pours a very dark brown with a small diminishing frothy beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee, a hint of smoke and leafy hops. Slightly watery flavour of roasted malt, coffee, some dry chocolate and a light, dry, bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good, I liked it.

Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Pitch black, small creamy tan head. Aroma: Slight chocolate with coffee, malt, a little creamy too. Flavour: Quite a light body with a mild dash of coffee, a good amount of malt, medium bitterness, a long dry finish. Very nice.
