Bottle shared at a tasting at our place. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Pours black, dark tan head and opaque. Roast, wood, cherry, deep velvety aroma. Sweetish liquor coffee taste. Full body, soft texture, minimal carbonation and lavender hints in the finish. Really good.

Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Black with a nice light brown head. Big coffee beans aroma, a bit "green". Sweetish roasty flavor with lots of coffee and a drier finish. Medium-bodied. A good coffee Stout.

Black color with generous and creamy head. Roasted malt aroma, but strangely also some vegetables, and some roasted nuts; dust. Dry mouthfeel; roasted malts, begin of oxidization, some liquorice, low bitterness.
Not bad, but too old.

bierkoning (10563) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JUN 12, 2012
Bottle from theWolf, thanks! Best until 21.10.09. Almost black and opague. Mocha coffee, ash and dark chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with roast and mocha coffee. Has thinned, so probably past its peak. Still an utterly delicious beer.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown, near-black body with a tiny off-white retention. Aroma is coffee, oats, sour-ish cereal tones, licorice, hints of toffee and tobacco. Very nice indeed. Taste is oats, smooth coffee tones, licorice and cream. Hints of wood and green leaves. Well-hidden alcohol, very drinkable and smooth. This must be the most politically correct beer I’ve ever had; wish all idealistic brews were as tasty as this one. (Most ecological beers have yet to make my day, for instance).

Dark brown with a small, tan head. Malty with coffee tones. Malt, coffee and fruit. Medium body with a nice, well balanced after taste.
