COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Formerly known as "Raasted Brown Ale+" at a time when Raasted also made a weaker 3.8% version. The latter has since been discontinued. So the only brown ale now made by Raasted is now this 5.5% version.

English: This is brewed from an English inspiration using the traditional English hops, East Kent Goldings and Fuggles. This brown ale is stronger and has a more full body than normal. A small amount of hops was used and the malt flavor is allowed to be dominant, which makes this beer incredible suitable for use in food and especially for marinating meat, for use during cooking and in the sauce.

0.5 bottle. Very dark brown color, but still discernible from black, and an off-white, creamy head. Malty aroma of grains, coffee, smoke, and some dried plums. Taste is bittersweet; sweetness comes mostly from dark, caramel malts whilst the bitterness seems hop-induced - combined they create a convincing coffee-like, a touch burnt sensation, but start focusing on it too much and the two start appearing unsuitable for one another. Medium body, slick/thin texture, and an average carbonation. Finish is a tad sweeter than the taste though it appears a bit watery especially for the style. Overall the beer is alright, nice idea but could be better executed.

I don’t know what’s in the water in the city of Randers, but thet sure know how to brew their beer. This equivalent is not as good as the one from Randers Bryghus, but it sure is an amazing brew. The malt sweetness is dominant, but in a good way. Measured and contended by the ever so fat tasting hops (Goldings, Fuggles), this is a masterpiece on it’s own. Unfiltered beauty, hints of raisin and rye with that bitter note of hay and summertime. Highly recommended! Btw. this beer is not retired at all, and the alc. is 5.0%
