Draught @ Ørsted Ølbar. Pitch black coloured. Small light brown head. Coffee, roast, sweetness, chocolate, herbs and spice in the aroma. Flavour of brown sugar, sweetness, roast coffee, plums and chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Nicely roasted sweetness in the end. Light alcoholtouch on lips and palate.

Superb imperial stout, my only complaint is such a small 鴺 ml) bottle. Thanks Svend. Pours thick black and the roast is full and rich. So is the taste.Much bitterness, delicious though. Drying aftertaste. A real treat.

Rastacouere (6044) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 25, 2009
A pitch black beer covered by a slice of tan, homogeneous, tiny-bubbled foam. Penetrating dark roast aroma where strong anise, roots and cocoa are burnt and intense, though all in a very liquorous fashion. Very heavy hop content as well which accentuates the earthy, woodsy side. In mouth, it’s sweet indeed and very sweet, chewy and intensely bitter, though this never really takes on the sweetness, just adds more information along the way to saturation. A heavy alcoholic, almost burning aspect climbs from sip to sip. Okay, this is meant to be a digestive, but that crosses my boundaries in the ’too much of everything’ category. Very sweet, very bitter, very alcoholic, very everything, but hardly drinkable and brash on the palate.

Defreni (2045) - Husum, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2009

A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. Again, very herbal and grassy bitter chocolate aroma, light vanilla and wooden notes. In mouth, a delicious mix of bitter chocolate, vanilla, licorice, burned coffee beans, warming alcohol, intense hops with grapefruits.....holy molly!!! Bieropholie import. BB 19-05-2018.
