Almost black. Has an off-white head, medium duration. Dark aroma, roasted, faint medicine. Flavor starts sweet, more roasted notes, syrupy texture, nice, moderate bitter finish. Flat carbonation.

Draught at BAJT porter week 2012. Black with a beige head. Aroma: malty, fruity, chocolate, licorice. Taste: chocolate, licorice, candy, toffee, cream, light earthy. Medium to full bodied. I liked this a lot.

Draught at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg, during "Porterveckan 2012". I had a "galopp" size. On November 25, 2012.
Black color, tan head. Sweet, malty, roasted scent. Sweet, malty, alcohol, fruity taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Draught at VilleValla Pub. Opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark fruit, biscuit, chocolate, ash, banana, vanilla and pine/citrus. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and dark fruit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.

Aroma: The smell is roasted; bread, dark coffee and wood. Sweet dried fruits, dates, figs, raisins, some earthy aromas as well.
Appearance: The beer is black, very black, has a brown high head, leaving some lacing. Good curtains.
Taste: Tastes burned brown toast, strong coffee, some vinous tones; Madeira, Sherry and Port. A cherry seeds bitter finish.
Palate: Medium high carbonation, a huge body, soft and slightly oily finishing off in an dry dryness.
Overall: Complex, demanding and rewarding. Liquid candy.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 20 Jan 2012) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, ashes, caramel, hints of yeast and a touch of smoke. Malty, fruity taste with notes of chocolate, dried fruit, liquorice, anise, hints of smoke and flavours of coffee coming through in the finish. Full body, fairly sweet. Tasty and complex. Very nice beer.

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. Almost black, with a decent light tan head. Lacings. Salty licorice, roasted malts, chocolate and sweetness on the nose. In the mouth it’s sweet and warming, roasted and dry, with some chocolate and coffee. Decent bitterness. Full-bodied, smooth and warming, finishing roasted, bitter and with some alcohol. A quite lovely beer, tasteful, complex and delicious. 110527

@ Copenhagen festival 2011. The aroma has caramel, coffee, fruit, some spice. Black coloured beer with no head. The taste is sweet, bit sugary, has some fruitiness, citrus, caramel malts, some roast. Nice balance. Good one.

Pours black with a heavy thick head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, burnt sugar, esters and belgian yeast. The taste is slightly lighter then the aroma with flavours of coffee, raisins, wood, nuts and caramel. Pretty rich with a long warming finish.
