On tap at Ølfestival 2011. Almost black, with a decent light tan head. Lacings. Salty licorice, roasted malts, chocolate and sweetness on the nose. In the mouth it’s sweet and warming, roasted and dry, with some chocolate and coffee. Decent bitterness. Full-bodied, smooth and warming, finishing roasted, bitter and with some alcohol. A quite lovely beer, tasteful, complex and delicious. 110527

De barril a botella. Dark brown colour, beige head. Sweet flavour dark malty caramel fruity hoppy. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet with dark malts, caramel and and fruity hops, pine, bitter. Sweet malty bitter finish.

all black with a lovely creamy, yellow-beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, liqourice, light chocolate and raisins. Light carbonation, frothy fat and light dry mouthfeel. Overall sweet flavour with good roasted malts, raisins, liqourice, mild astringency, chocolate. Good lingering herbal bitterness with some liqourice. Yum.

On tap at Christian Firtal. Black with a big and lasting tan head. Aroma of chocolate and banana, some roasted malt and a touch of dried fruits. Full, roasted and sweet flavour, with fruity yeast, bubblegum notes and a nice hoppy and roasted finish. An overwhelming beer that succeeds as a Belgian style imperial stout, but it felt a bit too much for me. Too overpowering, too much going on, and possibly too much Belgian yeast character for my taste.

Draught. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Brown colour. MOderate malty and hoppy aroma. Strong bitter chocolate and coffee notes. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter burnt finish. Oily palate.

Handbottled. Black coloured. Dense brown head. Aroma of roast, sweetness, caramel, some cocoa, vanilla and vague liqourice. Flavour of roast, cocoa, liqourice, caramel, spice. Medium to full bodied. Roasty dry bitterness in the end.
