yousee (49), Belgium May 19, 2007 on draught at Copenhague beer festival 2007. Poors a deep black beer with a small beige light brown head. Lots of chocolate going in the aroma with some hints of liquorice. Flavours of roasted malts, chocolate and almonds and liquorice. Long and nice coffee aftertaste with some notes of alcohol. Perfect.

Black and opague. Malty, sugary aroma with rubber and licorice. Very sweet, sugary flavor with laurel and licorice. Salty, well rounded, hardly any roast. Deceivingly easy drinker, but lacks depth. JB175 (1327), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle thanks to pepsican! Blackish pour with a moderately sized head. Aroma is tremendously roasty - even burnt. Chocolate, and some hop bitterness pokes through. Flavor is roasty, burnt, heavy with some UK style hops, and packing a decent dose of licorice too. Nice, but the "burnt" thing seems to throw this one off balance a bit. JMFG (1140), Florida, USA Aug 11, 2008 Courtesy hopscotch. Black color with a sparse light tan head. Grainy, roasty aroma but the roast character is pretty mild. Not much of an alcohol presence for a 10% beer. Light coffee on the taste, slight roasty bitterness, some light astringency. An interesting imperial stout, low-key but well-balanced.
