COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Imperial Stout is a deep black beer with a chocolatecoloured huge head. Has a powerful aroma and flavour of as well the roasted malts and the huge amounts of hops. While brewing the american hops Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo and Cascade are used. The beer is dryhopped with loads of Cascade.

Draught. Pitch black coloured. Huge dense brown head on top. A fantastic balanced aroma of sweet chocolate, roast, some cocoa and a herbal undertone. Flavour might be a tad more fantastic. Liqourice, roast, cocoa, coffee, sweetness, light spice and light fruits its all there nearly perfectly working together giving a delicous brew. Body is full. Quite dry and spicy mouthfeel. Ends on a warming cocoaroasty bitterness. Perfectly hidden alcohol, thats only revealed by the warming of lips and palate. The best Raasted I’ve tasted yet. Keep up the good work.

50 cL bottle (shared with faroeviking). Pours pitch black with brown creamy head. Great sweet and flowery aroma. This is really good: it starts out heavy with loads of aroma hops that then goes into a very soft stout sweet and malty taste and it ends in a soft bitter finish. Fanstastic tour! What a pity that this isn’t the sort of brew that is to find on the shelves in the normal stores as this could have been the best of the year if broad distribution had been made.

Black with a lasting light brown head. Fresh hops is the first impression in the nose, then chocolate, coffee and caramel. Good bitter flavour with some coffee.

Opaque black with a tan head and plenty of chunky lace. One of the best looking beers I have seen. Wonderful rich aroma of spicy dark chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Flavour is sublime. Incredible balance with both malt and hops in abundance. Liqourice and dark chocolate, roasted coffee, more spice and a glorious smoky note. Body is about as full as you get. Totally over the top but so mellow, refined and smooth. Alcohol is there but only a slight hint. Finish is more roasty coffee. Stunning beer.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2009 From Enjoyit via trade. Thanks Svend! The pour was super dark and the head was two-fingers and more tan than brown. Medium bodied pour, not really viscous. The aroma was enchanting. A sophisticated blend of floral and pine hops underneath a blanket of chocolate. Perfumy, floral notes hit you first with cedar, pine and coffee coming out to play as the beer opened up. Not one aroma overpowered the other, they cooperated in a symphonic fashion. The flavor was sweet brown sugar, floral hops, chocolate, citrusy notes all melded together into one of the more "delicate" Imperial Stouts I’ve ever had. The mouthfeel wasn’t overly thick and chewy and the alcohol, while present, didn’t dare overwhelm. If Great Divide’s Oak Aged Yeti is like a Rolling Stones concert, this beer is like watching the ballet. Very refined, very nice.

Bottle, courtesy Papsoe. Pours pitch black, with creamy tan head and plenty of thick lacing. Roasted notes in the nose, some floral hops, caramel, chocolate, and coffee in the end. Nice roasted flavors, starts with a big coffee push, then chocolate, big espresso and creamy vanilla. Nice body, tasty full flavor profile, very drinkable, and great respect towards the style.
