COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Another beer inspired by the strong Belgian Ales. There has been used 5 different malts, corn, dark cane sugar, and a lot of dark candy sugar. Very lightly hopped with Tettnanger.

Deep dark red colored with black hints. Little light brown head. Caramelly and chocolaty aroma with slight burned tones, mild alcohol also here. Medium bodied. Flavor starts with same burned tone and some chocolate, caramel also here. Aftertaste is sweet still with mild alcohol and glue, sugar sticked in lips. Well, not too Belgian one.

MoritzF (8250) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 17, 2008
(bottle, courtesy of Dixen & Hildigöltur) Cloudy, murky brown colour with a reddish shine and a short creamy beige layer. Sweet and sugary strong toast-malty aroma with dried fruits (plums)and lighter spicy notes in the back. Sugary sweet flavour, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Sugary malty, moderately toasty with dried fruity accents and a whiff of caramel; strong sweet and toasty, slightly vinous finish with a noticeable but non-disturbing alcohol. Very sweet but nevertheless likeable brew (10.06.08).

Dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet sugery along with minor roasted chocolate malts, spices and mint. Thick palate and loads of sweetness balanced by alchohol and yeast.

Thanks for sharing a bottle, iowaherkeye. The body is black with a khaki head. The aroma has milk chocolate with some toffee and black tea. The taste is bubblegum with some caramel. A fairly light body on this one. It reminded me of a dunkel in it’s character.

(Bottle) Pours very dark with red hints. The aroma is light roasted and light spicy with caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate and fruity/raisin like tones. The flavour is roasted and toasted with some milk chocolate notes. The undertones hold some subtle fruity and spicy hints. A touch of coffee and dark bread is also present. The mouthfeel is milky and berry like. Light to medium bodied.

Little or no head, yellowish bubbles on cola-coloured beer. Sweet, (red or dark) berries, dark malts but restrained, shoepolish (in a nice way), and a very light tobacco-like finish. Maybe some molasses. In the taste very outspoken tobacco (strong dark as pipetobacco), also peanuts (unsalted but roasted), dark malts, hint of liquorice, brown candi sugar and molasses. Only medium bodied, drinking away quite easily despite lots of flavour(s). Here’s one I like. Reasonably complex, sweet but not overly so, interesting flavours but no spicecocktail. Top!
