COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Another beer inspired by the strong Belgian Ales. There has been used 5 different malts, corn, dark cane sugar, and a lot of dark candy sugar. Very lightly hopped with Tettnanger.

(Bottle, thanks to larsniclas and rlgk!) Dark brown color, small tan head. Sweet and rather spicy scent, also acidic. Acidic, grainy and chocolate taste. Medium mouthfeel and bitterness.

Bottled. Pours out in a slightly hazy reddish brown colour with a low tan-coloured head. Sweet malty and spicy aroma of dates, figs, caramel, brown sugar and alcohol. Full-bodied with sweet notes of dark fruit, licorice, burnt sugar and nuts. Warming full mouth-feel. Long warming, bordering to alcoholic finish of pepper, muscovado sugar, rubber and caramel. Another solid offering from Raasted but the sweetness felt a bit overdone

vonsolms (33) - Måløv, DENMARK - NOV 17, 2007
A little disappointing - other beers in this brewer’s stable were generally good. Trying too hard to match the strength with fancy flavours - ends with an underlying cabbage rottenness.

Tasted 2007-11-16. This is an odd christmas beer. I agree with those who write, that it resembles a porter. A mild porter though. It’s dark with a smokey taste of chocolate. It’s very tasty, but it doesn’t exactly ring my jingle bells. It rings a lot else though, so I’ll be generous with the grade!

Defreni (2618) - Husum, DENMARK - NOV 9, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2008 Fad. Overraskende øl, der ligner en belgier, men i langt højere grad har smag tilfælles med en porter. God frugtig smag med en smule brændthed. Virkelig udmærket.

Bottle. Pours cloudy reddish brown with an off-white/beige head. Sweet and fruity aroma with hops in the background. Spicy notes. Flavour is sweetish and fruity with spicy and licorice notes. Bitter and fruity finish. Notes of alcohol. Lingering apple notes. Perfumy notes appear as it warms. A bit cloying in the long run and a bit too much carbonation. 06-05-2007.

Bottle. Hazy dark brown colour with a fairly lasting light brown head. Aroma of spices, well toasted malt and caramel and dark fruits. Flavour is sweet with spices and caramel, dark fruits and bready malt, alcohol and more sweetness.

Maria (10173) - Thisted, DENMARK - FEB 18, 2007
Fynske Øldage 2005, Odense. Dark brown with a red hue. The mouthfeel is oily and nice and the aroma is sweet and spicy. The flavour is sweetish, spicy with notes of roasted malt, nuts, weak hints of licorice and a very light bitterness in the finish. It has a nice full body, and I do not feel the alcohol in the flavour.

Light hoppy aroma. Frothy initial apperance. Brown head. Good lacing. Mostly lasting longevity. Dark brown body. Heavy sweet initial flavor, with a long duration. Medium palate. Oily texture.
