3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Turbid brown, creamy head. Starts sweet-malty with notes of caramel. Finish reminds me of cinnamon. Drinkable and good beer! Thanks to Allen for the bottle!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle from Allen - Merci! Cloudy brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Aroma of caramel and roasetd malts. Malty base with lots of caramel, malt and roasted malt (Bayerisch Blockmalz!). Shy hints of coffee. Well-balanced. I was surprised to learn it was a Belgian Ale, I thought it was a well-crafted Dunkel.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled 33cl. 4.5 ABV. Appearance: It pours a hazy pale nut brown beer with a quick diminishing head. Not much lacework. Aroma: The nose is of cocoa powder, almonds, vanilla, cress and malt. Flavor and palate: Very pleasant taste. Rather sweet. Light to medium bodied. Almonds, dark chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt and candy showing up. Woody. Slightly acidic. Easy drinkable. A bit watery. Low bitterness. Quite a surprising bite with the swallow, but not in an unpleasant way. Pleasant finish with hints of dark chocolate and a huge amount of vanilla. Overall impression: Easy drinkable. Pleasant. Unfortunately faintly acidic. Lacks a bit in body. Decent.

cloudy brown colour, little chaotic foam; fair chocolatey aroma; sweet and medium-bodied; effervescent with a low bitterness and a moderate malty, biscuity finish - simplistic but ok

Hazy dark amber color, with copper shades; the big head reduces quickly. At first there is some aroma of chocolate, with light yeast and caramel too. It has a correct body strength, with a flavor that juggles between the chocolate and the caramel, with low bitterness. Easy but drinkable.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(bottle) Hazy, ruby amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Slightly sweet and moderately fruity aroma with notes of dark berries, plums and a mildly toast-malty touch. Slightly sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Rather fruit-accented taste with slightly yeasty and shy toasty malty notes, accompanied by shades of chocolate and caramel far in the background; fruity and minimal sour-tart finish. The moderate acidity was unexpected but is not disturbing. All in all a decent brew. 29.XI.09
