3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at elliott bay pizza. Pours a murky dark amber with a dense and creamy tan head that really sticks around. Nice rings of drippy lace. Big toasty malty nose with pleasant fresh herbal and piney notes. Creamy big body; this beer makes you feel like you’re sitting in front of the fireplace with or without a fireplace. Toast, caramel, peat, herbs and pine on the mid palate with a mild finish.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
There are three Raccoon Lodge Defrosters listed on Ratebeer, and the place I had it labeled it as an IPA, so I am posting it here. Tap at Baileys... Poured amber with a white head. Aroma was hoppy and grainy. Smooth palate and foamy mouth texture. Leafy, floral hops with herbal, earthy malt notes. Also some caramel sweetness for a subtle balance. A little bit of alcohol and hops in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A special treat indeed. This edition of the Defroster has more of a double IPA character to it than a scotch ale. The pours is also a bit more amberish then its predecessor. The aroma has a bit more hops and the alchohol is definitely more present.
