Golden pour with thin white head. Some sticky lacing on the glass. Grainy, slight malt aroma. Hint of caramel and bakery. A slight whiff of skunk . Hops are light and aftertaste is wimpy. Fair to good. Bottle.

Not very intensive hoppy and bready aroma. Medium but quickly disappearing head. Clear golden body. Good malty base in taste with decent bitterness. High carbonation.

Pours apple juice yellow with a gushing soap suds cap that vanishes faster than my paycheque. The appearance here is a total fail: I remember being in Germany & marvelling at the way they poured thick frothy caps. This pour is impotent. Taste is okay german pilsner but they have so much better to offer than this. Despite what the label says my money is on that nobility doesn’t drink this.

Technical details from the Radeberger website: OG 11.3°P, alc. 4.8%, 33 IBU. This indicates an apparent attenuation of 80%. The numbers tell us everything. This is the current trend in German brewing: making thinner beer with less and less ingredients, but keeping the alcohol content the same. This Pilsner looks fantastic, bright yellow with good foam retention. The aroma is also very clean. The first taste is very promising as the hop bite kicks in. But then nothing. The malt aftertaste is completely lacking. Just a dry lingering bitterness. Looking at the original gravity, this is not surprising because the residual extract has been fermented out in favor of producing the 4.8% alcohol. I drank a lot of this beer in Germany years ago and although it is now "cleaner" than it used to be, it has lost a great deal of its character and tastes like all the other German Pilsners advertised on TV. A good mass produced beer and a step above Heineken, but just a shadow of what it used to be.

clear, pale golden color with fine, creamy foam, predominant hops taste with pleasant, subtly distinct note of hops bitterness - one of my favourite German pilsners other than Jever.

Pilsner típica. Nenhum diferencial. Para quem curte o estilo ou lagers vale a pena. Cerveja leve.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours light yellow-gold with a thick white head. Aroma is earthy pilsner malts - almost like a pleasant mild cigar. Taste is a little "grittier" than a Czech Pilsner with pilsner-malt flavors from beginning to finish and that finish has an earthy mild bitterness. Somewhere in the mid palate you can detect some faint wheat flavors. This one should score higher for what it is.

Pale look, ut good head, as a pilsner should. Malty, bread, sour aroma - again like a straightforward German pils. Flavour dull after all that: cardboard, tar and watry finish. But I suppose it does have that German pils dryness and bit of hop bite and some grassiness.
