I don’t really know what to make of this beer, didn’t really taste like anything while I had it. I may have to try another one to make up my mind. So far not my choice of german pils. Edit: This is better than I first rated, but it’s not the tastiest of pilseners. (Original score 2.3). KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada

Would I rush out & buy this again? Not likely. Would I turn this down? No, it has its stengths. Typical pils - very light golden colour, quickly vanishing white head. Tastes a little too thin & sour but nice malts really round out the finish, whiich was unexpected. I don’t love pilsners, but this had something good about it. Lilith (242), Santiago, Chile

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Pours a clear shiny gold color. Head is big, frothy white with good retention. It leaves a medium lacing.
Aroma is hoppy with notes of grass, flowers, fresh herbs, mint and some cedar with a little of citrus. Very fresh and nice.
Flavor is soft but with high hoppy presence. It has medium bitterness with lemony and slightly metallic hints. It ends with some astringency, but it’s light and refreshing.
Pretty watery texture, high carbonation. Rather smooth with the alcohol unnoticeable. Thin to medium body. This bottle had a good lager, but nothing more in it. Probably not in the best shape.
Bought in my trip to Mendoza, Argentina

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 1, 2006 Pours a sickly yellow (ever-so-slightly green). White foamy head and big suds.
The smell is barely there... I had to strain to detect a bit of grainy malt, some apple cider, and an unsual solvent aroma.
The mouthfeel is on par with carbonated water. Nothing to write home about, nothing to get upset about.
The taste is astringent and bitter, a pilsner through and through, with the bitterness overpowering initial attempts to decipher the taste. A bit of honey can be noticed, along with a citrus tang in the aftertaste. Other than that, hops and bitter, baby, hops and bitter.
In general, not a good German Pils. Poor King Frederick August III of Saxony, I hope he had better drinks than this to console his abdicating soul...
