| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Bottle. German quality pilsner. Why cant danish industry brewers make such good beers? Golden colour with a nice balance. Good palate. TBone (6741), Pori, Finland

Golden color, small white head with some bubbles. Buttery, slightly hoppy nose. Grassy woody hoppy, buttery notes. Decent hoppy aftertaste. Drinkable Classic German Pils, nothing really special, but hoppy enough to be tolerable. Nekronos (2263), Xalapa, Mexico

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Tap, Golden colour, medium thick head. Rich, grainy with a good taste of hops sligthly taste of bitterness, especially at the end. Exactly what I expect from a good, bitter pilsner.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 11, 2006 Golden color, small head formed of tiny bubbles, fairly good carbonation. Aroma of fresh grains and hay, typical pislner aroma. Some sweetness balanced by a fairly good amount of hops, as for european standards. What I preferred was its finish, crisp, dry and sustained. Grassy and herbal taste (straw/hay) with some faint vegetables notes (rhubarb?). Nice balance between the crisp malts and pilsner-ish hops. Mild-medium bitterness. Refreshing. Good example of what I’ve come to define as a “typical German macro”, not great but twice as good as north-american macros. Tough-looking big gold-on-black can, looks like a brother from L.A. South-Central, tastes like a suburb salesman. hayduke (1636), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 4, 2006 Drank this one at Wartburg Castle at Eisenach, Germany. From a bottle. Golden yellow wtih a medium white head. Not a lot of anything here. Everything seemed muted down making it a blt bland. This was a very average pils compared to some of the wonderful ones I had seen up to this point on my German beer tasting expedition.
I found this again at a hotel south of Dresden. This time it came on draft. Much better than the bottle. Need to update my rating.
