On tap in Mannheim. Had a half liter of this while sitting outdoors on the marktplatz and enjoying a beautiful German October day. The farmers’ market was really different: fruits, vegetables, beer and ouzo for sale at the stands. My kind of town! I’m sure the setting made this taste better, but so what? I thought this pale yellow fizzy pilsner was so dang fresh that I could have slurped up a bathtub full of it!

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pale yellow with a respectable frothy white head. Some sweet malt, offset by bitter hops. Not great but drinkable, possibly more so on a hot day. Might as well save some cash and buy macro.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Touch of white head present initially, but dissipates quickly. Golden yellow body, looks like ginger ale. Slightly skunked aroma, sweet hints in background, but skunk is overwhelming. Watery sweet hoips flavour with a hint of apples. Watery mouthfeel, a little disappointing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light yellow colour, no head to speak of. Had a slightly bitter aftertaste. Carbonation was less than I’m used to giving it a ’flat feel’. Not a bad beer but I won’t rush out to get it again.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This Pil pours a crystal clear yellow with a bright white head. Metallic malt scent with a little sugar. Maybe a little dough notes. First taste was smooth and a little watery. Typical pilsner, with the bad finish common with Lab Blue.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
In "honour" of the NSLC Beer Gala, where I get to try so many fantastic (insert sarcastic smiley here) new beers, I rate this, my first beer of the fest, as #400. Can. Golden colour with a fizzy white head. Wheat, toast, and light corn, slight fruity hop notes. Toasted and corn flavour with a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, slightly watery.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bright golden-yellow with a large white head. Fresh, grassy nose. Body is lean and crisp. Flavour starts sweet with a grassy & lemony bitterness in the finish. Not bad.
