Bottle from The Beer Authority, poured a clear golden color with a thin head and excellent lacing. Very light body that defies a wonderful grain flavor. Tight finish.

Sampled at SF International Beer Fest. What can I say, it’s a pilsner. Yellow color, white head. Aroma is grainy with pale malt. Flavor is the same, slight grassy hops. Fairly thin palate. Incredibly average.

Bottle from Bevmo; 4th of the style I believe. Very clear, somewhat pale gold/yellow. Aroma was bready, sweet, with some earth/grass. Decent flavor. Bread and hay, with some earthy/grassy hops in the finish. I found it fairly dry. An ok beer overall.

330ml bottle (expiry 6.09). A clear pale yellow beer with a dense transient white head. Nose is average bready sweet malt and not much else. Taste is similar with hardly any hop flavours to speak about (some dry grassiness in there). Bland abrupt neutral finish. Medium bodied with a thickish texture and fizzy mouthfeel. Like most things from the old GDR it just doesn’t match up. There are many better German pilsners to try.

500 mL Can. Clear straw body with a frothy white head that settles to a thin but very tenacious foamy layer lacing the sides of the glass generously. Aroma is sweet malt and grassy hops with notes of citrus, honey, and floral. Flavor is sweet malt with a note of honey, dry-bitter hops expressing in the aftertaste and lingering mildly in the finish. Gutes Bier!

Sample at Total Wine Beerfest, Jacksonville Fl 4-18-2009. Light malt and grassy hop aroma. No skunk. Flavor was clean, hoppy German Pils. Pleasant and drinkable.
