COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rader Ambrée is the subtle aromatization of a beer brewed in the ancient-way, re-fermented in its bottle, with a distillate of grain which has undergone a prolonged ageing process in oak casks. The primary fermentation is made with the same selected grains for the mash tubbing and the distillate. The distillate, aged in oak casks, is then added to the mash tub just before the re-fermentation in the bottle.

Nebenbei sueffig, leicht suess, etwas Weizen. Klassisch stark.

Bottle bought at the Bierbörse in Mühlheim. Pours out in a cloudy amber colour with steady airy head and smooth body. Aroma of Belgian yeast and herbs. Taste of mild Belgian yeast, herbs, cassis, nuts, caramel, honey and wild flowers. Malty-sweet finish. Easy drinkable but a real headache-beer.

Boring Belgian amber beer, or as they call it ’speciale belge’. Very generic.

The Ale is actually Abtei Himmerod Abteibier. For some reason US distribution name is changed. This batch was purhased in Germany. Golden Amber, sweet carmel and candi sugar smell, with a slight hint of hop bitterness. A sweet caramel taste and yeasty spicyness (wheat?) follow the light alchohol heat. Watch the the pour, because they are bottle conditioned and have yeast sediment on the bottom of the bottle. A nice bedtime snack or for sitting outside at night.

Amber with medium white cap. Almost no aroma. Interesting rich taste with bitter and sweet notes. Bitterness on the tongue sides, sweet bitterness towards root.

Pours in amber color with low foam, visible carbonation. Aroma is brown sugar, yeasty, fresh on the nose. Taste is low sweet with medium bitterness. Body is full, dry with high carbonation. Good one, David.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a large off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel and spice (coriander?). Sweet flavor of fruit, caramel and spice. Fruit and alcohol in the finish.
