Pours deep golden yellow with a big frothy white top. Aroma is bready grain with yeast and a small oak. Taste is a well balanced grain malts, light yeast. The pinot barrels is hard to pick out.

Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a large foamy head with quite good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of vinous notes with lightly sweet malt notes with some residual grapes notes also identifiable. Taste is also dominated by light sweet notes with remarkable vinous notes which are well balance against some residual sugar notes. Grapes notes are also noticeable. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable overall with very solid balanced of all the flavours.

Better than expected bottle from LCBO. Decent golden, with controlled edge from the wine. I think it depended on the bottle, and mine hit it. Big foamy head.

Fresh, strong, a bit sour. Very good food beer to cut heat or to cut fat. One of my favourite belgian style beer I have had. Would not hesitate to buy again,

750 ml bottle. Pours a subtly veiled golden with a thick, resilient white head. Aroma is tartness, wine, grapes and brett funk. Flavor is fruity, peachy, pears and sweetbread. Finish is tart, graoes, sour, some bitterness. Lingering dryness, some unripe fruit. Medium body, average carbonation. Super Belgian ale, loved it.

(bottle) clear golden amber colour with a medium tall tan head; aromas of wheat, spices; mostly dry and somewhat complex flavour, pretty good

Blonde. Gros collet. Semble effervescente. Nez: faible. Légèrement fruité. Florale. Bouche: fine. Subtile. Belle effervescence. Sèche. Je ne vois pas le vieillissement. Légèrement épicé. Fruité. Marmelade. Simple mais bien fait.

750 mL bottle from LCBO served cold in a tumbler. Clear deep golden with a fair white head. Honey, citrus, sweetness, a little white wine and wood. Medium body, moderate effervescence. Honey, citrus, Sauv. Blanc, a little oak; dry with limited bitterness and a honey and light, fruity white wine finish. Alright.

DuffMan (6439) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 21, 2013
Bottle, thanks to Sammy, shared with Ian and others. Golden body with a lively white head that collapses rather quickly and doesn’t lace. Aroma and flavour are sweet grains with light fruit esters, nothing distinctly vinous nor barrel-y. Nothing wrong, just rather unexciting for all the whoopla and fancy packaging.

Coppery rust orange pour with quite a bit of foamy white head. Very hazy, can’t see through it. No floaties though. Yeasty scent. Something else there, almost wine like grape notes. Slightly fizzy mouth. A touch sweet. Interesting subtle mix of tastes. Hard to place them. Hops and that yeast that was in the nose. A bit of citrus and spice. Just a bit boozy in the finish and warming feel. Not bad at all.
