UPDATED: FEB 24, 2014 1L PET bottle freshly sourced, with a cordial thanks to motelpogo and mowbeer from the enthusiastic Plzen expat delegation for the haul to Braukunst Live 02/2014, marking the millenary occasion with a much welcomed Bohemian expansion of my Pilsner vocabulary. Chalky Saaz nose, gives way to a chewy pale malt body and deliciously fragrant, peppery hops. Slightly oily, adhesive palate, adding to the rich taste’s staying power like pungent mustard on fresh, buttered bread crust. Spicy, lingering finish. Sign me up for a CZ tour soon!

Thanks to Ryan for sharing. Clear golden pour with a white head. Kind of a buttery, almost chardonnay aroma. Toast, cracker, and herbal hops. A touch of dough and grass. The flavor is moderately sweet and doughy. Bread, a bit of butter, and toast. Some grassy and herbal hops give a light bitterness on the finish.

1L PET bottle thanks to Mowbeer! Pours a clear golden with poofy white foam. Nose is buttery, heavy cereal, pretty over the top on diacetyl moving close to a ’rancid’ dairy character. Taste is much better with butter balancing soapy/grassy Czech hops, heavy caramel and big honey. Cheerios, cereal, bread, sweet roll- lots of body to balance out the hop bite. Quenching, clean body. Very nice despite the heavy butter aroma.

Bottle (PET 2000ml): Golden, unclear, quickly collapsing loose white head, dryish chalky and peppery "Saazy" nose; pretty solid dryish bitter-sweet flavour, malty base, light to medium bodied; lingering Saaz bitter-sweet finish with chalky, again, traces. A real good Bohemian Pilsener...
