jjpm74 (2899), Connecticut, USA May 4, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Mar. Pours copper with a decent white head. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes spicy with some sweet malt hints. Wish I could say more, but there isn’t much going on here.
Aurelius (2466), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 26, 2008 A leafy, tannic aroma. About what you’d expect in the land of Shiner. Moderate acidity, moderate bittering, light nutty sweetness. Medium light body. Picked it up at a mini mart in Grapevine, TX. If you’re faced with a Rahr’s choice, then opt for the schwarz. Nothing very special. aubreya (666), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 22, 2008 The color was a crisp amber with a thin, white, and fizzy head. The aroma was sweet, acidic, and fruit. the flavor was spiced and fruity. The palate was very carbonated. The finish was clean. emacgee (1033), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pours a hazy red with a one finger tan frothy head. The nose is grainy, sweet, definite lager character, caramel. The flavor is grainy, some grassy hop character, lightly sweet. Crisp mouthfeel. Not one I would do again. xShanex (19), Mansfield, Texas, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours amber. Not too super. Not a fan of Rahr beers. A bit watery, nothing special. Have another? Pay me? ericandersnavy (107), denton, Texas, USA Jun 14, 2008 bottle thanks to swalden_28. pours a dark amber with beige head. head retention is at a minimum. aroma was caramel. flavor is slightly sweet with a little bitterness in the end. carbonation is med-high. i have also had this on tap at the brewry. this is my second favorite rahr beer next to the winter warmer
