Bottle courtesy of Mar. Pours copper with a decent white head. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes spicy with some sweet malt hints. Wish I could say more, but there isn’t much going on here.

Aug 26, 2008 A leafy, tannic aroma. About what you’d expect in the land of Shiner. Moderate acidity, moderate bittering, light nutty sweetness. Medium light body. Picked it up at a mini mart in Grapevine, TX. If you’re faced with a Rahr’s choice, then opt for the schwarz. Nothing very special.

Aug 22, 2008 The color was a crisp amber with a thin, white, and fizzy head. The aroma was sweet, acidic, and fruit. the flavor was spiced and fruity. The palate was very carbonated. The finish was clean.

Aug 11, 2008 Pours a hazy red with a one finger tan frothy head. The nose is grainy, sweet, definite lager character, caramel. The flavor is grainy, some grassy hop character, lightly sweet. Crisp mouthfeel. Not one I would do again.

Jun 14, 2008 bottle thanks to swalden_28. pours a dark amber with beige head. head retention is at a minimum. aroma was caramel. flavor is slightly sweet with a little bitterness in the end. carbonation is med-high. i have also had this on tap at the brewry. this is my second favorite rahr beer next to the winter warmer
