foduck (300), Denton, Texas, USA Jan 23, 2008 aroma was weak and faintly sweet. looks highly carbonated/bubbly with little head. flavor is good, grapefruit hop bitterness with roasted malt finish. fair enough deal.
RCL (1084), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Aug 30, 2008 High carbonation. Fake nutty aroma. Rather poor, dry, lightly spicy flavor. PhillyBeer2112 (1861), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jul 4, 2008 A rich malt heavy ale. Fruity and sweet, somewhat caramelly. A tough rough, though, with a notable alcohol/grainy finish. Full palate. jzzbassman (689), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head that had staying power. Very typical aroma for the style, but not exactly rich. i like the flavor, with a warm malty backbone. Roasted nut notes, with a spice cake thrown in. Needed more body, but other than that nicely done. BMan1113VR (925), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Apr 9, 2008 Pours with a largish, rocky, light brown head covering a mahogony body. Nutty aroma with cinnamon, and nutmeg highlights. Spicey, nutty, sweet, and watery taste. Fizzy and dry mouthfeel. Reminds me more of a brown ale than a english strong. graham515 (306), Houston, Texas, USA Mar 25, 2008 Pours a reddish ruby brown in the glass with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet and toasted with some alcohol aroma. Taste leaves a little to be desired and the beer is a little thin. Though I must say, this is by far the best beer I’ve tried from the brewer.
