2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 DerHopKopf (32) - Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Pour is dark, but not quite opaque. Minimal light tan head. Aroma is musty, but sweet with no bitterness. Taste is nothing special, kinda sweet with a lingering weakly bitter finish. Mouthfeel light bodied with decent carbonation. Water + calories. Not an unpleasant beer, just average all around.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DSG (2635) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - DEC 30, 2011
Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks beerandbeyond. Clear brown color. Aroma has a bit of roastiness, slightly grainy, and light vegetal acidic notes. Sweetish roasty flavor with a bit of coffee, slightly "green", light acidity and a drier finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 thooper41 (465) - Oregon, USA - DEC 16, 2011
12 oz bottle: Appearance is a dark charcoal with off white head. Aroma is of mildly burnt malt. Flavor is very much like a generic porter without the ale yeast. A strange combo of porter and lager, but not all that great nor interesting.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sherm1016 (480) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 11, 2011
On draft at the Barn. Pours a clear, dark brown color with and off white head. Aroma is roasty, coffee, bready. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is slightly bitter, roasted malt, bread, a likttle smokey, with a bitter coffee finish. Flavor seems a bit muted. Ok at best.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 high_on_hops (122) - Missouri, USA - DEC 10, 2011
On tap. A dark body with a tan head and lots of lacing. An aroma of toasted malt with the same in the flavor and a nutty aftertaste. Great beer name and label.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Terminus (2538) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - NOV 30, 2011
Tap at pizza uno in downtown Ft Worth-pours deep brown with it hinting towards black with a small fizzy tan head. nose is lite roast, char and burnt notes somewhat ashy. flavors show this ashy component, which is acutlaly something that can be found in beers of this style. Lots of burnt notes as well on the flavors. overall, i would have to say this is very close to the style-lots of burnt malt and char. no hops to speak of. WHat is up with this brewery? they seem to make some good beers yet people dont like them?
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 freeofthoughts (199) - Raytown, Missouri, USA - NOV 22, 2011
Bottle pours dark ruby brown with a beige head. Light aroma of roasted grain, light cocoa, lightly burnt caramel. The taste is slightly sweet but not in a sugary way, a little musty and grain heavy. There seems to be a rosy flower kick that darts in at first, it may be a yeast character as the bottle has a little age. The finish is slight grain bitter and leaves a soft roasted grain taste. Overall it is a thinner beer but has nice carbonation and it is ready drinking.
