Bottle: Very dark amber brown with ruby tone and about a half inch of ashen, tan head the dissipated fairly soon. Roasty nose with coffee and caramel, toffee... Earthy bitterness with highlights of caramel sweetness and some nuttiness. Some toasty bitterness lingers in the finish before giving way to caramel and some dark berry. The carbonation is adequate, mouthfeel just shy of syrup. Alcohol well hidden.

Pours a nice dark brown with tan head. Nuts, dark fruits, some peat, and sweetness on the nose; follows onto the palate. One of their better beers.

Thanks to crajun for the trade! Pours clear dark brown with a thin off-white head. Nutty roast malt aroma. Little/no hop aroma. The flavor is sweet and nutty with a bit of bitterness in the finish.
