Pale copper color with a mini head. Lively carbonated. Honey nose and also taste - all in all very sweet. Nope!
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 pivo (2540) - GERMANY - APR 22, 2006
Sweet honey nose, copper color, low foamy head. Honey tastes, cinnamon end. Odd detergent tastes. Thin body, not so good overall.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 5000 (5000) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - APR 5, 2006
Bottle: Pale orangish copper, quite clear, moderate foamy off-white head, fairly nice lacing, soft carbonation.   Pale malt nose, slight grain, otherwise very subtle.   Very slight burnt corn syrup as well.   Extremely pale malt flavor, otherwise virtually flavorless.   No caramel maltiness normally associated with the style.   Very small hop characteristics on the finish.   This one is clean, but overall way too light of an example.   Needs more UMPH!   Thanks Tad for the freebie!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bigbeerguy (9) - Texas, USA - JAN 26, 2006 does not count
This Amber lager could be a little darker in color...... I was expecting a Red Beer..... go figure. This beer, another offering from the Rahr Brewery in Fort Worth is also worth the effort! It’s a well balanced beer with nice caramel undertones balanced by spicy hops. Again, a very dry beer - perfect for the Texas heat. A nice head stayed during the entire tasting - which didn’t take very long. Again, a strong beer from Fort Worth, TX!
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Bockyhorsey (2607) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - JAN 9, 2006
Obtained from Secret Santa. Malty aroma that was just ordinary. More of an orange body with decent head than settle like a bacteria sample under a microscpoe. Medium maly body for flavor and some crisp freshness on the finish where that came fro I don’t know. Middle of the raod beer her but have had a lot worse.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Likerighteous (120) - Pflugerville, Texas, USA - NOV 6, 2005
I wanted to like this beer (Texan pejudice) I really did. But there was just nothing going on here for me. Very thin. Very watery. They must have saved a fortune on ingredients. Ho hum. Pleasant color. October swill. Drinkable but overpriced. Attractive packaging. Cool bottlecap. It just needs...................well, anything.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kramer (3909) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 28, 2005
12 oz bottle via trade w/ TChrome. Pours a light copper, craggy white 1/2 inch head, lively carbonation, good lacing down to the end. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and soft floral hops. Not overwhelming but very pleasant. Cookie-like malty flavor with a lightly bitter and crisp finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation on the mouthfeel. This is a nice all around session beer. If this were available in my area it would definately be a regular fridge filler. Good example of a traditionally less than stellar "Amber Lager style.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 aracauna (2874) - Georgia, USA - SEP 20, 2005
A very clear true amber that leans to the redder end of the amber spectrum. The head is a nice sized, slightly sticky foam with appropriate staying power. The aroma is light. The flavor is extrememly clean a light toast and caramel malt in the middle and a small, slightly metallic bitterness lingers in the finish. Borders on bland, but definitely a techinically flawless lager.
