Had it out of a bottle, poured a nice frothy head and a strong hop taste with a good bitter finish!

In my top 10, would buy again! Good, strong hoppy bite, nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. Next up in the custom 6 pack is Stash.

Large bubble carbonation. Nose of wet hop but not strong. Teases with mild fruit up front, followed by prolonged bitter. I’m a hop head, but this is just bitter. As it warms, a little more malt to balance.

What looked like a very good looking ale, turned out to be a hard swallow.

Floral, spicy hops and grain in the aroma. The taste is similar, with muted (for an IPA) hops and a good malt backbone. Dry finish of chewed-out peppermint gum. Goes down easy.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 ShawnC (64) - - SEP 22, 2012
Clean sweet apricot nose. Fruity metallic with a decent lingering bitterness. Ok.

I enjoy many IPA’s but this one is slightly different. I love the aroma as it is hoppy but you can smell the grains in this one, too. Its nice, like the smell of a brewery. To me, it smells fresh. The flavor is mild with a combined hops/malty flavor. It is one of the more enjoyable beers I have tasted and as with all, it is best from the tap. A great one for the tours they have on Saturdays.

well.. not the biggest bitter beer fan but i didn’t really enjoy this. gold, with good foam and a bold bitterness and a strange back taste. not a fan of this beer at all.

It is not your typical strong ipa. It is probably a good beer to introduce someone to IPAs. I will agree that this is a good barbeque beer. Keep it cold.

Stormcloud is a clear-bodied bright orange-colored brew with an off-white head that’s kept thin, but steady, by moderate carbonation. It has a sweet, hoppy aroma that’s gentle, but still stands up to the style. In the mouth it’s a little creamy. The bubbles from its healthy head and airy body pop on your lips and in your mouth a little.
I expected a harsher hop punch from this, but it’s actually very gentle. I know many American Pale Ales that are heftier than this. You can definitely tell that their attempt to Germanize this IPA was a success. Its flavor reminds me more of a German lager than an IPA, and its body also puts on such an act. A hint of bitterness remains in the finish, but not enough, in my opinion, to hold up to what I expect of an IPA.
Don’t get me wrong - it’s a great beer. It should probably be more properly labeled, however. If it was, you’d go in to this beer with a completely different set of expectations and would probably end up enjoying this beer more. Then again, that’s assuming you’re a hop head.
Overall, this is a very smooth and gentle IPA with an interesting twist that should be acknowledged when drinking this beer to fully appreciate what the brewers’ intentions were.
