3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I normally have problems drinking IPAs as they are so hoppy that I am reminded of grapefruit juice. I have avoided the IPA out of respect for grapefruit juice. Until today... Rahr and Son’s has changed my mind about the Indian Pale Ales with Stormcloud.... Pours light copper, with a beige-ish head... The flavor reminds me of summer with light grassy and hay overtones, and a touch of malt. I think this would be best drank ice cold on a hot day, while BBQn with friends. Rahr and Sons is a wonderful beer.. unfortunately they have not made it out of Texas... yet..

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle while enjoying some barbecue in Dallas. Light amber color with a medium white head. The nose is pretty faint, some sweet grains, light hay and some floral hops. The taste is moderately sweet, some light grass. Relatively strong malt presence, rain water. Medium body, easy-drinking. Overall, this was refreshing as it was 100 degrees outside, but without much flavor to speak of.

Flavour is similar, mild resin, light bitterness and a dusty quality to the malt, sweet caramel touched core. 3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle via trade with rougeau13 - Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Aroma is a real light toasted malt. That’s it! Flavor is pine and citrus hops, and toasted malt. Finish is kinda astringent. Medium body. Worth a try. Thanks Jared.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled at Schlafly 2012 Repeal Fest. Pours clear copper with a small off-white head. The aroma has dry caramel, very mild hoppiness and an overall muted quality to the aroma - not much I picked up. Medium body with light graininess and mild carbonation. I expected the flavor to pop out more than the aroma, but its very minor as well. This is mainly caramel malt that is a bit on the sweet side and really doesn’t showcase hops for something called an IPA. The finish has a small bit of spicy / spicy hops, but this is still very malt forward. I wondered if this was an old keg they brought.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Enjoyed on-tap @ the Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival @ the Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood, MO. Tapped from the Black/Silver Tap Handle into a 16oz Schlafly Cup.
Aroma- Has a VERY skunky, hop aroma from the beginning and Americans hops towards the finish. Doesn’t hit the nose hard but on the contrary, have to search for these attributes.
Appearance- Received with a 1.5 finger, bubbly head that dies fairly quickly. Has a dark reddish copper body with good clarity. Leaves tons of suds behind.
Flavor- Very complexed and tough to break down all of the flavors... Tons os citrus and pine mixed with American hops. Medium-High Bitterness. Couldn’t find any malt present either.
Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and has a very pleasant grapefruit finish.
Overall Impression- A very hoppy American IPA but not balanced. Needs more malt and not too many types of hop that you are not able to distinguish between any of them. Still enjoyed and would have again but many more at this festival to get to!

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft sample at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival 2012. Pours a golden-amber color with a finger of off-white head. Faint aroma of grassy hops, pale and caramel malts, and cereal. Flavor is mostly the same with a little more spice and bitterness. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Not much going on in this IPA.
