2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Dark gold pour from bottle. Very little head. Watered down taste of citrus and hops. As far as IPA’s go, this was fairly disappointing. Just not much here.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Snifter. clean and clear orange-yellow color. white head, with good retention and lacing. nice light citrus hop aromas. smells like pilsner malts. decent flavor. some citrus hops and breakfast malts from the german-style IPA. smooth and crisp. easy on the carbonation. mild body. big pilsner flavors. easy to drink, but slightly confusing palate.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle from Ben. Dark golden pour, about a finger of head that quickly fades. Very slight aroma, a little bit of citrus and maybe some malt. Slight hops bite, with a touch of malt to balance it out. Touch of bitterness to the finish. Another small profile beer from Rahr. I might be missing something.

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
NOTHING on the nose. when I say nothing, I mean nothing.. IPA is supposed to have some hops on the nose. shove this under my face, blindfold me, and I dont know a beer is in front of me. it is THAT absent and lacking.
taste... well... kinda tastes like it smells. nothing. While I am excited that Rahr put out a beer that is over 5% (can tell because the label actually says Ale rather than beer) this is a real failure. I can see what they are trying to do here, make a beer that the mass oblivious texans would buy in place of the BMC products, but for someone that likes beer, dont buy it.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber, not much head. Not much aroma for an IPA either - seems to be mostly malt. Taste is bitter with some hops flavor.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
CASK at Gingerman in Plano. Pours amber with a creamy off white head. Aroma of toffee candy and floral hops. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Flavor of toffee and caramel malts countered by a spicy bitterness. Dry and hairspray like finish, which loses some points

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft. Amber in the glass with a creamy off-white head that had a thin layer lasting. Subdue hoppy aroma. The flavor had caramel, toasted malts, and a hop background. Light body and light bitterness.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured from bottle. Nose is floral more than citrus, with an almost-violet overtone. Color pours dark for an IPA; a rich amber with an even moussy head. The taste is rich malt and an odd, almost medicinal overtone; the hops bitterness comes through on the close, and the carbonation is cleansing and light. If it wasn’t for that phenolic/boozy/medicinal thing going on, this would be a great IPA. As it is, it’s just okay.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: The pour is a clear amber color with a moderate off-white head and some spotty lacing.
S: The nose is rather mild with some sweet orange notes as well as a bit of sugar and light malt.
T: The sweet, orangey sweetness is in the forefront with perhaps floral notes. Other than the rather "light" hoppiness, there are bready malt flavors and a touch of bitterness on the finish.
M: The body is medium with a somewhat low carbonation and bit of a "flat" mouthfeel.
D: This was not a very impressive example of an IPA. Lackluster flavors and aromas, and I wasn’t a fan of the mouthfeel either.

Thanks Cavie for sending. Pours a soft hazy peach with a one to two finger creamy head. Nose is piney and herbaceous, some age, malty, caramel. Flavor is malty with a medium bitterness, some corn, grassy hop character. Palate has low carbonation and a metallic bitterness.
