COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Regulators were a deputized posse, persistent and strong. They were formed to counter what was belived to have been a corrupt sheriff. The Regulators were resilient, relentless individuals who rode hard across the plains. It is in this vision that we created our doppelbock, a brawnier version of the traditional bock, that was first brewed in Munich by the Paulaner monks. Our doppelbock has a large, creamy, persistent head with intense malty flavors and aromas with little hop presence. So saddle up and ride with the Regulator!

Bomber into a pint glass. Pours a clear medium brown, with a moderate khaki head that quickly fades. Nose is caramel and dark fruit. Taste is very sweet caramel, with a little dark fruit. Very sweet, cloying finish. Not balanced, and not as good as classic doppelbocks. Would not buy again.

Sampled at GABF 2015. In the tasting glass amber with a thing light tan cap of foam Aroma of malts and some fruit. Medium body. Very smooth mouth feel. Flavor is rich and malty. Finishes malty. No hops detected. Good though.

Haslinger (907) - The World of Beer, Texas, USA - JAN 9, 2016
Deep brownish pour. Decent sweet notes in the nose, some sweet caramel in the initial taste. Finishes smooth and less sweet than it starts although there is some burnt sugar in the finish. Absolutely NOT worth $9.50 a pour. Would barely drink again a normal price. Would never touch again at this rate

Golden brown. Aroma is caramel, toffee, taste is similar. Ok doppelbock, with some light chewy, bready notes but nothing like the ones from the outskirts of Munich.

Tap at the brewery anniversary party. Pours a lightly hazy reddish brown color. Aroma is dark fruits, sweet notes, fruity yeast and some brown sugar. Flavor is much the same, leaving a small bitterness on the finish. I like this.

Well, this is certainly a malty, sweet brew, and filling. A darker, but clear type brew, with a quickly disappearing head. Aromas are super sweet and malty. Stewed fruits, whiskey, rasberry pancake syrup. Some mild, roasty malt warmth. Absolutely no hops spiciness. Taste is heavy and sweet, with just a hint of sour notes on the finish. The 8.5% abv is very noted at only 2/3 of the 22oz bottle finished..... Goes down pretty smooth, but the sweetness lingers a bit too much. Good brew, but not my style these days....

Better than expected. Malty and syrup aroma. It smelled like it would taste sweet. Dark brown sugar appearance with a cloudiness. Weighty palate with a soft texture. Up front mildly sweet maltiness turned to a roasted grain and molasses character. Hops were minimal but it worked. Pleasantly surprised.

Backlog bottle thanks to so many good ratebeerians. The look is clear, brown in color, with an off white head. The smell is malts, dusty, caramel, burnt, and wheat. The taste is sweet, malts, caramel, and sticky.

Bottle. Chocolate, dark fruits, malty goodness. Nice. Just a hint of roastiness, but a lot of sweetness w/o being cloying.

Barrel aged! A bit expensive but it’s smooth and heavy. The perfect complement to spring weather.
