COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Regulators were a deputized posse, persistent and strong. They were formed to counter what was belived to have been a corrupt sheriff. The Regulators were resilient, relentless individuals who rode hard across the plains. It is in this vision that we created our doppelbock, a brawnier version of the traditional bock, that was first brewed in Munich by the Paulaner monks. Our doppelbock has a large, creamy, persistent head with intense malty flavors and aromas with little hop presence. So saddle up and ride with the Regulator!

Amber in color with a small khaki colored head. Nose is the fairly standard sweet malt mixed with toast and cola. A bit of yeast, dark fruit, and a very mild roastiness. Nothing really extraordinary. Good flavor, but not amazing. Bread, toasted malt, and a hint of cola and dark fruit. There is some mild roast and yeast notes. Just an okay doppelbock.

Pours dark ruby mahogany with a small light tan head. Smells a bit like chocolate bread with some subtle caramel notes. Taste is a bit like chocolate and a bit like caramel with some bread-like flavors: yeasty, a bit of grain. Medium-bodied with a slick texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Rahr & Sons The Regulator finishes with a bread-like dryness, the kind that makes you want a drink of water, or to put butter on the bread itself.

Poured a not very appealing brown colour with no head. Very light on the nose and this follows into the flavours and palate.

Bottle thanks to Fratto. Pours with a clear, deep bronze hued body with a small off-white head. Aromas are nutty, malty, herbal hops, light caramel and munich. Toasty. Flavors are malty, nutty, molasses with a slightly distracting spicy hop character. Clean yeast wise. Medium bubbles, medium bodied, not overly sweet.

On tap at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy amber with a medium beige head. The aroma is cinnamon and spice. Thin mouthfeel with raisin malt and roast with lingering spice finish. A good doppelbock from Rahr.
