3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kevinator (360) - The Colony, Texas, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Better than I remember. Roasted dark malt aroma. Dark brown color with brown head. Above average weight on the palate with normal carbonation. Nice roasted malt taste up front that lingers. It reminded me of some brown ales. Maybe even a little nuttiness. A little heavy when coupled with food but surprisingly good.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 jsquire (3000) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAY 30, 2013
This beer pours an almost cola colored amber out of the bottle with a thin beige head. Brown sugar sweetness in the nose with some smokey tones. This is a pretty sweet beer with lots of caramel and malt syrup. Toasted bread with a nice smokey hint in the finish. There is a real bitter astringency on the tongue as this beer evaporates.

On tap at the brewery. Malty slightly sweet aroma. Black with a light tan head. Moderate lacing. Very smooth. Light bodied but full flavored. Malty, earthy and woody flavors.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OKplus (549) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 9, 2013
A - Pours a dark brown with a frothy tan head that dissipates quickly.
S - Roasted malts, earthy smoked peat, hints of stale coffee grounds
T - Sweeter than the nose implies. Roasted malts, burnt sugar, bits of cocoa and coffee. Smoky hop bitterness comes quick and coats the mouth. Roasty and bitter on the finish.
M - Light to medium body, good carbonation.
Definitely not boring. The smoky bitterness adds a nice pop as well as the roasted malts. This would pair nicely with a grilled steak.

Draught. Pours a dark brown color with a moderate off-white head. Nose and taste are both quite toasty and nutty, which makes for a great refreshing brew to go with some steak.

Shaker pint draft at the Flying Saucer in Fort Worth, Texas. The pour is a hazed brown black, with a minimal off white head. The aroma is roast, light chocolate sweetness, and a bit of a dusty coffee ground. Additionally, there is light nut sweetness. The taste is char, roast malt, along with the light sweet of nut and chocolate. The palate is medium light bodied with soft carbonation, and a clean finish. Unfiltered mouth feel. Nice enough Schwarz.
