Poured a dark brownish-red color with off white head. Flavor is kinda sweet with a few hints of dark fruits. Aroma not as itense as I would like. Lots of carbonation.

Pours a dark brown almost black color with tan head. Roasted caramel malt, a little spice, and charr on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes warm and roasty.

Much better than I remember. Nice malty and caramel aroma. A bread crust brown color with a good foamy head. Weighty palate with decent carbonation. Full feeling. Bready malt flavors with burnt sugar and spices. Overall a good beer only to be bettered by the bourbon barrel version.

Dark brown with a thin lasting tan head. Sweet malt aroma. Medium body with lots of malt with a little hop bitterness. I prefer drinking this beer just below room temperature i.e. 60-65 degrees. Filling finish.

Great beer. The only thing I wish for this beer is that it had more aromatic malt. It is perfect for a cold night. Great beer overall.

12 oz bottle compliments of TJ. Poured the color of cola with sweet malty nose. Sticky sweet malt backbone, caramel and raisins. Slight bitterness at the finish, practically disappeared as it warmed up. Delicious ww!

Beerenberger (1419) - Fischer, Texas, USA - NOV 26, 2013
The aroma is malt forward with notes of toasted malts, caramel, and nuts. A dark clear garnet-brown hue with a very thin tan head, which quickly forms a ring, and minimal lacing. The taste is surprisingly rich; not robust, but very rewarding. Roasted malts, toffee, caramel, with hints of nuts. There is a slight hoppy/peppery finish. Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Overall, I liked this beer and would drink it again - winter or not.

poured a dark cola color with some ruby in the light. this beer poured zero head so im really wondering if i had purchased an old bottle. the aroma was sweet, you pick up caramel, coffee, brown sugar. the taste is not as sweet as aroma but you definitely pick up the coffee and sugary malt taste. i was a little worried to try this after having no head with an aggressive pour but this beer was good, give it a shot.

A - Pours cola brown with 1 finger of tan head. S - Milk chocolate, sugary malt, vanilla, roasted malts. Smokey aroma as it warms. T - Dark caramel, roasted malts, caramelized sugar, bitter dark chocolate, brown toast, nutty yeast, hints of grapes and under-ripened berries. Bittering hops adds earthiness to round off the finish. Citrus comes out on the aftertaste. M - Moderate carbonation, light side of medium, almost thin body. No alcohol to speak of. The carbonation drops off toward the end. Warming without the alcohol showing up. Nice cocoa and roasted malts with a solid strain of nutty yeast to glue everything together. The mouthfeel was the weak link but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Everything tasted young and fresh. I’m gonna try and out one away for a year or so. Serving type: bottle 11-19-2011
