3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours blacker than coal. Oops. That was a lazy metaphor. But not as dull as the review below mine. Yawn. Sampled at Tall Boys carnival mini beer fest hipster happening. A decent stout that I enjoyed more than their other offerings.

The St. Thomas, Ont. brewery has produced a six-per-cent alcohol stout that has a 43 IBU rating on the bitterness scale. Itís black and has a coffee aroma, while coffee, dark chocolate, smoke and oatmeal are the prime components of the flavour profile. Itís okay, but nothing exceptional.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A deep viscous dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a smooth bitter chocolate with vinous, floral hops, coffe grinds, great. In mouth, a smooth powdery chocoolate malt with grassy hops, smooth and classic.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Half pint at the Loon. Deep brown black with a small mocha head. Reasonable chocolate, lightly smokey, cold and tight, a touch of tang, decent. Medium body and moderate carbonation, a little thin. Decent coffee and chocolate a touch smokey, a little molasses, fairly stern, not awesome; dry with a weak finish. Meh.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ok drinkability, possibly one of the better ones I have had from this brewery. Decent amount of smoke to make it interesting. A bit thin mouthfeel. Lots of licorice in the finish. Bottle at Stouts Irish Pub in Toronto.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smell is awesome on this one. Very nose heavy stout. Pours with big foamy head, medium lacing. Aroma has smoked malt and coffee, lots of nut. All without even having a sip. Taste is very light nutty bitter - not much of a leave. On tap at Get Well.

The beer pours a very dark brown, almost black with a creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was roasted malt, nuts, and coffee. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is roasted malt and coffee. Thin and bitter is the best way to describe this.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This stout poured pure used motor oil with a low down, septic looking head. Tan in colour with no lacing what-so-ever. Scents include smoke, dark cocoa, earth and licorice. First sip was thick and rich with heavy smoke flavour and added tastes of Melloid cough candies and soy sauce. finish is smoky burnt with a medium bitterness.

On tap at the Judge. Notes indicate 10/20/12.Half pint, as the keg had blown. Very dark brown, almost black, with a thick creamy mocha cap. Very roasty, with a touch of smoke and lots of black coffee. Dry, with only a touch of sweetness, medium bitterness. Fairly full bodied and dense, creamy, lingering roasty bitterness on the end. Very good overall.
