Hand bottled and courtesy of and shared with Mike. Some bubbly head and light brown body. Medium mouthfeel. The nose was mostly malty, but spicey, namely nutmeg. The taste was nutmeg mostly, cranberry secondary still significant. Interesting. Drinkable as a sipper.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2010 Growler: Pours a amber hue, possibly rosey highlights if seen though a larger glass. Cake spices and fruit in the aroma, well contained but distinct. Sharpish edge to this ale stays in cjaracter with its bright spicing and tart fruityness. Finishes clean and hoppy-spicy with just a hint of tartness. Decent holiday brew. Quite quaffable.

500 ml sample poured from a fresh growler- Interesting colour. Orange with ruby like hues when held to the light, pours a one finger white foam that recedes to form a ring at the edge of the glass. Inviting nose of spices, that include clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Also in the aroma is vanilla, with strawberry and cranberry. Tastes quite spicy as well, again with the cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Like pumpkin pie! Also present is a slight sweet cranberry that just barely makes itself known. Finishes with a spicy edge, combined with a marked hop bitterness. No trace of the 6.8%, making it very, very drinkable. A spicy christmas ale with a subtle dose of fruit. I’m sold! Good work Barb, this one is a keeper! Thanks for the sample Danielle!
