COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full bodied golden Pale Ale which pours with a linen white medium density head leaving spider web lace on the glass. On the palate the flavour is sweet fruity malts up front (apricot, mango) with a bit of candy, and slight grassy notes which fall away to reveal a hint of biscuit with rather pleasant grapefruit and perfume undertones. This is a hop bomb, there is no doubt. To the nose there is a mild malt aroma which accentuates the robust floral bouquet which is derived from the hops.

Medium full bodied ale with pleasant lingering hop finish.

6.8 % alcohol by volume, IBU’s 46.6

Food Pairings: Burgers, Chilli, Chorizo, Crispy/Spicy Duck, Spicy Indian dishes

Can from LCBO. Pours a hazy amber colour with thick off-white head. Some citrus in the aroma. Not bad.

Can. Pours pale copper. Aroma is biscuits, caramel. Mainly dark malts. First touch is quite interesting (fruity -- mainly apricot) and perfectly balanced, but slides into veggies territory. Couldn’t stand it. Started well but quickly drainpoured.

[on tap at Arrow and Loon, Ottawa] Creamy strawberry aroma that is all from hops and quite pleasant. Dark straw appearance under a lasting, white foam. Biscuity caramel flavour in a fully attenuated beer with a faint, nutty diacetyl finish. Light body, moderate carbonation, moderately bitter finish. Excellent English Bitter.

Can from LCBO. Some grassy hops up front with some sweeter backing, maybe apricots, some grapefruit. Lighter body in the mouth with strong carbonation. Ok.

Pint bottle from brewery. Soapy thick white head upon pouring. Aroma is slightly flowery, mostly grapefruit. Body is clear deep yellow (Lovibond 5). Relatively low carbonation. Rather playful lace develops after head diminishes. Taste is of bittersweet grapefruit with a moderate to long astringent finish.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2012 March 13 2012. Pint bottle. Pours clear dark yellow, thick bubbly head which reduces quickly to a ring around glass that sadly clings just enough to make some lacing. Aroma is definitely hoppy with conflicting floral and fruit. Soft dry palate, a little oily though in aftermath. You can really taste all that is going on, the apricot candy and the grassy floral with some hints of citrus and hops. Sometimes the taste seems to change which makes it complicated to drink, but definitely not strong or too much hops at all. In fact, would like to have a bit more hops or bitterness in aftertaste as there wasn’t any. A bit too confusing for my tastes left me wondering "what was that I just drank?" but not enough to not have another.

I was intrigued by the name of the beer, and moderately satisfied with the flavour.

Pours clear amber with a small white ring and not bad lacing. Aroma is fruity and floral hops with some caramel. Taste is a bold fruit/floral hop bitterness, some earthy malts but slightly out of balance.

Sample from can at the Strange Brew Tasting on 02/18/2012. This brew pours a clear yellow-gold color with a medium white head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Light grassy hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with a mildly bitter hops character and notes of bready malt and fruit in the background. The finish is short and leaves a fruity hops aftertaste. Average overall.

Can shared by a friend. Pours clear gold with a huge white head. Aroma of sweet malt, honey and mild hop. Sweet malt flavor followed quickly by bitter hop astringency before an earthy hop finish.
